A huge number of 7.47 million people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are availing the facility of Sehat Insaf Card scheme and entitled to get free healthcare facilities.
KP Minister for Health and Finance Taimur Salim Jhagra told the Assembly that free of cost healthcare facility is being given to the people of KP irrespective of their political affiliation. He said cancer and heart diseases are being treated through Sehat Insaf Card.
In Peshawar, he said, as many as 757,000 people are benefiting from this facility. He said free medical facilities are being provided to 600,000 people in Mardan, 598,000 people in Swat, 445,000 in Swabi, 432,000 in Abbottabad, 419,000 in Charsadda, 343,000 in Nowshera, 336,000 of Dera Ismail Khan, and 30,000 in Torghar.
The minister said Rs1,941.539 million has been allocated for healthcare services in Mohmand tribal district of which Rs308.162 million has been released, while Rs308.162 million has been spent so far.
The minister said ban has been imposed on recruitments in the health sector as the government is working on a new plan to appoint staff on vacant posts.
