In a shocking incident, an 80-year-old woman was allegedly raped and assaulted by a man in Punjab’s Toba Tek Singh area on Thursday night, according to reports released on Saturday, Geo News reports.
According to police, the incident took place at Mauza Khokhranwali, a suburban village in the Kamalia area of Toba Tek Singh.
According to the investigating officer, a vagabond named Bilal, son of Bakhtawar, entered the old woman’s house while she was sleeping, tormented her by suffocating her with a string, sexually raped her, and fled the scene.
On the woman’s complaint, the Saddar police station opened an investigation and initiated a search operation to arrest the suspect.
A protest was held in response to the tragedy. Meanwhile, the suspect is expected to be arrested shortly, according to the local police.
