The Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) has informed the Prime Minister Imran Khan and Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin that the prices of edible oil are likely to increase by Rs13 to Rs18 per kg from July 1.
Through a letter written to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Finance Minister Shuakat Tarin it is conveyed that the reason for the increase in edible oil prices is the new taxes in the Finance Bill 2021-22.
The association has also warned that if the taxes were not withdrawn, the prices of edible oil and other types of edible oil would increase by Rs13 to Rs18 per kg from July 1.
The PVMA’s proposals were also presented to the finance committee, which had directed the association to resolve the matter with finance ministry officials.
