Prior to the attack, the United States had warned its citizens to leave the gates of Kabul Airport immediately.
It may be recalled that 170 people, including 13 American personnel, were killed and more than 200 were injured in the Kabul airport attack.

Yesterday, US President Joe Biden said that he would not forget the attackers at Kabul airport, but would selectively kill them.
