Ministry of Information and Technology has approved 9 billion Pakistani rupees, this amount is used to complete 9 fiber-optic broadband projects, which will boost the internet speed, reported to Pakistan Times.
Syed Amin ul Haq, the Minister of Information Technology, was in charge of approving the projects. This approval is an essential step forward in Pakistan’s digitization and implementation of the Digital Pakistan goal.
People who live in rural regions are all too experienced with slow internet speeds. They are seriously impacted as a result of poor internet signals. The lack of Internet network infrastructure is to cause the slow internet speed. However, numerous initiatives have been taken to improve internet access in these areas.
Optic fiber connections will be laid in all four provinces as part of the 9 Fiber Optic Projects. In addition, these provinces will be given access to broadband services. Around 7.5 million individuals living across a 40,000-kilometer radius will benefit from the fiber optic cable network.
Approvals were also granted for the projects to start. In the Northern Areas, this includes the emergency availability of mobile phone and broadband services. The fulfillment of the Digital Pakistan vision would be aided by ensuring high Internet speeds and enabling internet technologies through constant infrastructure investment.
