A record of dengue fever was reported in the current season in the capital territory along with one death, Dawn reports.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Zaeem Zia said the patient was admitted to Polyclinic and was a resident of G-7.
In the last 24 hours 174 cases were reported, DHO stated, adding that it was the highest number of cases since October 15 when 154 cases have arisen.
According to the DHO, 110 cases were confirmed in rural regions and 64 in urban areas. According to reports, 47 patients were admitted to Federal General Hospital, 25 to Pims Hospital, 20 to Holy Family Hospital (HFH), three each to Polyclinic and Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), two to Capital Hospital, and one to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. The rest of the patients were transferred to private hospitals.
He claimed there were 39 cases from Tarlai, 22 from Koral, 20 from Alipur, 11 from Tarnol, five from Sohan, four from Chirrah, three also in Sihala, two each within Bhara Kahu and Rawat, and one in Jhangi Syedan and Kirpa.
The death toll from dengue fever in the current season reached 10 – seven in rural areas and three in urban areas.
So far, 2,603 cases have been reported in Islamabad – 1,589 from rural and 1,014 from urban areas.
