In order to boost public relations and respond more quickly to citizen complaints, Islamabad law enforcement has recruited student interns.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Islamabad, Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, made this decision to expedite the resolution of complaints.

A police official confirmed this on Tuesday.

Competent students will be chosen and deployed to all police stations in the federal capital to observe officers’ interactions with the general population. They’ll inspect these exchanges for problems and generate daily reports to deliver to the Central Police Office.

The findings will be analysed by a board of top police officers, following which recommendations for changing the police system will be finalised.
