Already renowned for its civil architectural masterpiece, the Karakoram Highway (KKH) has been named one of the world’s 15 most beautiful roads for its scenic beauty. Wikicampers, a website that provides tourist services all over the world, classified the KKH as an “ideal setting for the most dizzying road trip.”

“Let’s gain altitude again by taking the world’s second-highest asphalt road,” the website said, explaining the road’s features.
The Karakoram Highway connects China and Pakistan by crossing the Karakoram mountain range and running alongside peaks over 7,000 meters in height. The highway is approximately 1,300 kilometers long, stretching from Hasan Abdal to the Khunjrab Pass in Gilgit-Baltistan, where it crosses into China.

In its documentary, BBC had also called the KKH one of the highest paved roads on earth which were a major trade route between Pakistan and China. It also said the road was completely developed, smooth, and safe.
