Turkish drama serials have an ever-growing audience in Pakistan, from Aşk-Memnu to Diriliş:Ertuğrul, and PTV is set to telecast another serial portraying the story of the last Ottoman emperor, leveraging on the love of historical tales of Muslim kings.
The state-run television has announced that Payitaht: Abdülhamid will be broadcast in Urdu. During Sultan Abdul Hamid II’s Ottoman reign, the series highlights heroism and warfare.
PTV tweeted the poster for the next show on its official Twitter account, writing, “Following the historic success of Ertugrul Ghazi, PTV is introducing the narrative of a Sultan who has a sincere commitment to the love of the Prophet.” The historical drama will play from Wednesday through Sunday at 7:55 p.m., starting this week, according to the channel, and will be a “shining chapter in the history of the Muslim Ummah.”
