Syed Aminul Haque, the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications announced on Saturday that Parliament’s proceedings will be completely paperless by January 2023, with call attention notices, adjourned motions, attendance, voting, and other business conducted entirely online.
On Saturday, he said this during a ceremony at the Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU).
He told the audience that, as part of the Digital Pakistan project, all emergency response lines across the nation will be combined into the 911 hotline, and that the IT ministry had finalized the plan for the establishment of a single emergency helpline, PEHEL-911.
Haque stated that the federal government was working to offer internet access to the rural population, particularly rural youngsters. “A total of Rs49 billion has been spent on improving connection in the country, with Rs12.4 billion invested in Sindh’s rural districts.”
