Mushtaq Ahmed said that New Zealand is a dangerous team at home and this tour will not be easy for Pakistan. He also said that in this era of isolation, the responsibility of keeping the team united lies with the management and captain Babar Azam.
Mushtaq Ahmed also supported the decision to appoint Babar Azam as the captain of the national team in all formats. “It is a good decision to make Babar Azam the captain in all formats as he has proved that captaincy does not affect his batting. He has the potential to be a great captain in the future and as a good captain so far,” he said.
The national team will play a series of three T20 matches against New Zealand on 18,20 and 22 December and the two Test matches of the ICC World Test Championship on 26 to 30 December and 3 to 7 January in Mount Mongany and Christchurch respectively.
