Toyota Automobile Company plans to introduce low-fuel and low-cost tricycles because of the growing demand for vehicles in Pakistan. To meet this demand, an electric three-wheeled vehicle will be introduced. In this regard, an agreement has also been reached between Hiroki Toyoda, Chairman, T-Track, a subsidiary of Toyota Motors, and Rana Abid Hussain, President, Pak-Japan Business Council, under which an electric tricycle will now be introduced in Pakistan.
According to Rana Abid Hussain, president of the Pak-Japan Business Council initially, 3,000 electric tricycles will be introduced, which will later be manufactured locally, but talks are underway. He said that Hiroki Toyoda would meet Pakistan’s ambassador to Japan next week after which regular exports from Japan would be made to Pakistan.
Rana Abid Hussain said that this tricycle is being manufactured by Toyota Japan which can travel up to 60 km on a single charge and is capable of carrying a weight of 150 kg. He said that this tricycle can be used for small businesses including hawker and vegetable delivery or other delivery.
