Another 83 people have died in the second wave of the global covid-19 in Pakistan. In the last 24 hours, another 2,142 people have been confirmed to be infected with the covid.

According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the total number of deaths due to the covid in Pakistan has now reached 9,557, while the number of people infected with the epidemic across the country has risen. The total number has exceeded 462,814. The highest number of deaths due to covid was reported in Punjab where 3,732 people died, 3,379 in Sindh, 1,563 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 394 in the federal capital Islamabad and 99 in Gilgit-Baltistan. In Balochistan, 179 people have died while in Azad Kashmir, 211 people have died due to covid-19.

According to sources, the total number of covid cases in Islamabad at present is 36,483, in Punjab province 133,179, in Sindh province 266,489, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 55,811 and in Balochistan 17,000. 980 people have been infected with covid, 8,040 in Azad Kashmir, and 4,832 in Gilgit-Baltistan. However, a total of 415,352 covid patients have recovered in Pakistan. That 37 thousand 905 are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals.

On the other hand, due to Covid, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to close madrassas across the country. If all educational institutions are closed, then why are madrassas open? A report was sought from the Federal Minister of Education. According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of the non-closure of registered madrassas in the country due to the covid-19. After taking notice from the Prime Minister, the Federal Ministry of Education contacted the non-closed religious madrassas across the country. The Ministry of Education has contacted the religious madrassas and directed that the madrassas be closed as per the SOPs.
