The accountability court has handed over Khawaja Asif to NAB on a 14-day physical remand.
The NAB has brought PML-N leader Khawaja Asif in the accountability court in the Excess Assets case. NAB Prosecutor Asim Mumtaz, while requesting 15 days physical remand of Khawaja Asif, said that assets in excess of income from Khawaja Asif should be investigated in the case. Khawaja Asif said that first I was interrogated in Rawalpindi, if I did not find anything there then I have been sent to Lahore. Judge Jawad Al-Hassan remarked that when Shahbaz Sharif used to address here, he wanted to become the Speaker of the National Assembly. This is the first remand so we accept the NAB’s request.
The court ordered Khawaja Asif to meet the family and lawyers and provide home-cooked food. The accountability court remanded Khawaja Asif to 14-day physical remand and ordered him to be produced again on January 14. Talking to the media, Khawaja Asif said that Imran Khan was behind my arrest.
