BEIJING / WASHINGTON: The US Navy has made its second major move near Chinese waters since President Biden took office.
According to the foreign news agency, US aircraft carriers have conducted joint exercises in the South China Sea. While a few days ago, US warships landed near the Chinese-administered islands in the disputed region.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has called the US move a threat to peace and stability in the region. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenben told reporters in Beijing that US aircraft carriers were monitoring the movement of navies in the South China Sea, a demonstration of strength that would help bring peace and stability to the region.
He said that China would take all possible steps to maintain its integrity and safeguard regional peace and stability.
It should be noted that a few days ago, China condemned the movement of the US Navy near Paracel Island. It was the first major US move near Chinese borders since President Biden took office.
