The 98 members of the House cast their votes. The last vote was cast by the Presiding Officer, Senator Muzaffar Hussain Shah.

Presiding Officer Muzaffar Shah announced the rejection of 7 votes of Yousuf Raza Gilani in the Upper House.
According to the presiding officer, seven voters stamped the name of Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Mirza Muhammad Afridi of PDM are facing each other for the post of Deputy Chairman Senate.
The Senate session began under the chairmanship of Presiding Officer Muzaffar Hussain Shah.
