Abdul Razak Dawood, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s advisor on Commerce and Investment, emphasized the importance of resuming commerce with India, saying it is urgent and beneficial to surrounding countries.
Dawood said we should do trade with India and it should be opened today during an interaction with the media at a Trade Development Authority of Pakistan exhibition on engineering and healthcare. “Trade with India benefits everyone, particularly Pakistan.” “And I’m in favor of it,” he added.
The South Asian country’s commerce head made these comments around a year after Prime Minister Imran Khan declared on Friday that trade with New Delhi could not resume and relations could not normalize till occupied Kashmir regained its constitutional status.
Referring to the summary of the Economic Coordination Committee on the import of cotton, yarn, and sugar, the premier made it clear that any kind of trade with India was possible only after it took back its illegal steps in IIOJK.
