A bomb blast near the Afghan capital, Kabul, has killed at least nine people and injured dozens more.

According to Afghan media, three vehicles caught fire after an explosion in the PD-5 area of ​​the capital Kabul.

Nine people lost their lives and several others were injured in the blast.

Immediately after the incident, law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area. While rescue teams reached the spot and took part in the rescue operation.

The bodies of those killed and injured in the incident have been shifted to the hospital where the injured are being treated.

Afghan media further say that the convoy of MP Haji Khan Mohammad Wardak was targeted in the blast in PD-5.
