Sudan, Egypt, and Ethiopia agreed to present a draft proposal over the management of The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. The decision made during the recent talks between water and foreign ministers from the three countries under the platform of the African Union. The Dam situated in western Ethiopia has been contentious since its construction started in 2011. Many international efforts failed to produce a meaningful solution to the issue. Egypt and Sudan consider this dam a threat to their survival as both countries rely on Nile water for most of their agriculture.
