Ali Muhammad Khan Advocates High-Level Political Meeting to Address Pakistan’s Issues
Ali Muhammad Khan, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has proposed a meeting between PTI founder Imran Khan, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari as a potential solution to the country’s ongoing political challenges.
In an interview with Private Media Channel, Ali Muhammad Khan emphasized that the release of Imran Khan is crucial for reducing political tensions and finding resolutions to the nation’s issues. He highlighted the importance of such a meeting for strengthening democracy and called for electoral reforms, including changes in the Election Commission, ahead of the upcoming elections.
Similar Calls for Dialogue
On December 28, Rana Sanaullah, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, expressed similar sentiments, urging Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif, and Asif Ali Zardari to sit together to address national challenges. Speaking at a seminar in Lahore, Sanaullah reiterated that dialogue is essential for resolving political issues and emphasized the government’s commitment to making the negotiation process with the opposition successful.
He also noted that the PML-N took difficult political decisions to save the country from economic default.
PTI’s Demands and Concerns
PTI leader Asad Qaiser echoed the demand for the release of arrested workers, stating that this had been a priority during ongoing dialogues with the government. Speaking to the media, Qaiser urged the Chief Justice to take notice of human rights violations in Pakistan, which he claimed have drawn international attention.
Qaiser called for unity among lawyers and an open trial for cases related to the May 9 incident. Additionally, he linked Imran Khan’s release from jail to the release of PTI workers and stressed the need for a reassessment of foreign policy, particularly advocating for dialogue to resolve issues with Afghanistan.
These developments underscore the growing calls for dialogue and reform to address Pakistan’s pressing political and economic challenges.
