A suspect was arrested in Sindh’s Sanghar district after reportedly killing a local “journalist.”
Suspect Ali Murad was apprehended by the police, along with the weapon he used in the murder of Ghulam Murtaza Shar, according to the police.
According to sources, the incident occurred as a result of a personal dispute between the suspect and Murtaza.
Murtaza was assassinated over a relationship conflict, according to SHO Sanghar Jhol Police Station Niaz Kalharo.
Soon after the incident, SSP Sanghar took note and launched an investigation. According to him, the police called Sanghar Press Club President Anjum Aftab, who informed them that the dead was not a journalist.
He further said that search for another suspect of the killing of Ali Nawaz is underway whereas more details will be revealed in this regard after further investigation.
Meanwhile, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, taking to Twitter, said that the security of journalists in interior Sindh has become a challenge.

He said that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary, and IG Police Sindh will be informed of the deep concern of the federal government on the issues of journalists in the province.
Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh, while condemning the incident, said that the killing of a journalist in broad daylight was a shameful act for the police.
