The Pakistan Cricket Team’s all-format captain, Babar Azam, is voted Person Of The Year 2021 by ARY News, who was closely followed by the late national hero and famed climber Ali Sadpara.
ARY News sponsored a poll to determine Person Of The Year, and a vast number of people voted for all five finalists, but the cricket team’s captain won the poll, just as he won the hearts of the whole of Pakistan with unforgettable triumphs as captain and countless individual records.
Babar Azam and company not only overcame a years-long World Cup Curse against India by defeating them by 10 wickets in this year’s ICC T20 World Cup, but they also won five consecutive games. Babar was the only player in the tournament to reach 300 runs, doing so at an average of more than 60 and a strike rate of 126.
