New Delhi: The BJP government in the Indian state of Assam has announced action against marriages of Hindu girls to Muslims.
The BJP government cracked down on the growing trend of Hindu girls marrying Muslim boys and announced to stop it by calling it jihad.
According to Indian media, Minister of State for Finance and Health Hemant Bisma Sharma said that the trend of Hindu girls marrying Muslim boys is increasing in Assam, furthermore, she said which would be stopped soon.
Hemant said that Muslim boys make friends with Hindu girls on Facebook, and then these friendships turn into marriages.
“We will fight against such marriages to protect our sisters and daughters from Muslim boys,” he said.
