Every day women have to come across different cases of harassment. The rise of people doing deceitful acts is rising day by day. From unwelcomed catcalling to sexually demeaning activity, any case of harassment can trigger someone and can play with their mental health.
In Pakistan, we tend to witness such incidents now and then. Every person in our surroundings might have been through something or the other. However, a similar incident happened in a bus where a conductor was involved in sexually demeaning behavior.
The incident occurred in broad daylight at 1 pm on a bus traveling from Sadwal village to Lahore. A woman on a public bus filmed a bus conductor. The woman captured the video of the man in the act while pretending to be on a call. Later, a Twitter user shared a video on Twitter while asking the authorities to hold accountable such people for their acts.
In the video, the bus seems empty, which might have given him the chance to get away while doing this horrendous act.
A similar incident was reported a few days ago by a girl who witnessed a man on the bike. While the man engaged in similar activity, he felt no remorse and shame while following a car. Coming across these incidents shows that women in this society are not safe, and men make it even more difficult for them by acclaiming the public spaces.
The reason behind such sexually demeaning activity remains a mystery, however, according to psychologists, it is an “exhibitionist disorder.“
