In Canada, the right-wing extremist group Proud Boys has been declared a terrorist group.
The Canadian government has listed the Proud Boys extremist group as a “serious and growing threat to society.”
According to Public Security Minister Bill Blair, the country’s intelligence agencies have in the past expressed deep concern over the group’s activities and the organization has been under surveillance since 2018.
Proud Boys played a key role in last month’s attack on the US Capitol Hill.
