An 80-year-old civil engineer who spent most of his career in Saudi Arabia and was inspired by Sharjah’s Islamic Botanical Garden will soon open Pakistan’s first Islamic garden in Karachi.
like the Sharjah park, Shaukat Omari’s garden includes trees, plants, and shrubs with Quranic and hadith names. The garden, which is located within the Jinnah Urban Forest, has so far been planted with 25 different species, including olive, pomegranate, and fig trees, date palms, and citrus plants.
The garden is located close to the mausoleum of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah, in Karachi’s Jinnah Urban Forest.
