Islamabad: The National Assembly and Senate have been suspended due to increasing cases of coronavirus. The decision was made to close the offices for three days to prevent coronavirus’s possible spread.
In this regard, a notification issued by the Administration Department of the Secretariat of the National Assembly. It said that the Standing, Public Accounts, and Special Committees of the National Assembly’s meetings till November 9 had been cancelled. Besides, the offices will be closed until November 6, 2020.
The Secretariat has instructed the CDA to disinfect all offices with antibiotics and to have staff immediately test for coronavirus symptoms.
The Senate Secretariat’s administration department has also issued an order to keep the offices closed till November 6, 2020. Moreover, to increase office hours from 10 am to 3 pm from Monday to Thursday. The working hours of the Senate Secretariat will be from 10 am to 1 pm on Friday.
