The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), in partnership with the provincial Excise and Taxation Department, has launched the registration process for the January 2025 e-auction of vehicle registration numbers. This initiative enables individuals to bid for attractive number plates for motorcycles and cars through the dedicated e-Auction App or web portal, with registration open until January 30, 2025.
The e-auction system aims to provide convenience and transparency, enabling participants to bid for their preferred number plates from the comfort of their homes. Successful bidders’ details will be accessible through the app, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly process. The platform also offers a tax calculator and vehicle verification services, adding extra value for vehicle owners.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf highlighted the initiative’s transformative impact, emphasizing its role in promoting transparency and eliminating corruption. By moving the process online, the system has effectively curtailed the influence of intermediaries and agent mafias, enabling individuals to register and bid directly for their preferred number plates.
