ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Absar Alam, the former chairman of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) and a senior journalist, was shot by an unknown gunman in the capital city on Tuesday.
The veteran journalist was targeted while out for an evening walk in F-11 Park, according to police, and was shot in the abdomen.
Alam has been taken to the hospital to be examined. The patient, according to doctors, is no longer in risk.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has taken note of the incident and ordered an investigation in this regard.
