DHAKA: Five people have been sentenced to death in Bangladesh for gang-raping a 15-year-old girl.

According to the International News Agency, after prolonged protests in Bangladesh. The government had passed a law on the death penalty for rape accused three days ago on public demand.

After which a Telangana court today gave death sentenced and fined Rs 100,000 each to the gang-raping a 15-year-old girl while they are Sagar Chandra Shell, Gopi Chandra Shell, Rajon Chandra, Sanjeet Chandra and Moni Rishi.

Furthermore, The victim was taken to the riverbank in 2012 by her friend Sagar Chandra under the pretext of entertainment. Where he secretly pressured her to get married and on refusal. She was gang-raped along with two of her friends for this heinous act.

The other two people helped the three friends. The special court today ruled on the DNA test, the girl’s statement and the confession of the accused.

Earlier in Bangladesh, rape was punishable by life imprisonment. But eight days ago, a video of thugs sexually assaulting a woman went viral on social media, sparking nationwide protests against the government.
The accused were demanded to be sentenced to death.

Earlier, members of the ruling party’s student wing lusted after a female student, who was arrested after a nationwide protest.
