According to sources, former President Asif Ali Zardari had a telephone conversation with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in which important issues were raised, including the resignation of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

It was discussed that Asif Zardari took a blunt stand that resignations should not be given before the Senate elections. We are not in favor of boycotting the by-elections.

According to sources, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif disagreed with Asif Zardari’s position and said that if the PDM resigns, it will be difficult to hold Senate elections. Former President Asif Ali Zardari has called on PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Asif Zardari said that his party has agreed to participate in the Senate and by-elections, to which Maulana Fazlur Rehman replied that the matter was discussed with the PDM. According to sources, Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman also inquired from Asif Zardari about his health.
