National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has recommended that electricity prices be raised by Rs4.75 per unit across the country.
According to details, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has requested that NEPRA raise electricity prices in accordance with the October monthly fuel adjustment prices throughout the country.
According to information shared by CPPA in October, diesel produced Rs 25.22 of electricity, while Frans oil produced Rs 22.21. Furthermore, water generation increased to 23.36 percent, coal to 16.69 percent, Frans oil to 10.88 percent, diesel oil to 0.5 percent, gas to 9.67 percent, and LNG to 23.93 percent.
It is important to note that if NEPRA approves the CPPA’s request to raise electricity prices, the public will face an additional burden of Rs60 billion across the country.
