Chairman Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that India has to change its thinking about occupied Kashmir, Kashmir has been turned into a police state.
In an interview with a British broadcaster, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that Kashmiris are in favor of dialogue and want a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that changes in occupied Kashmir will not change the ground realities, if not today then tomorrow Kashmir issue will have to be resolved.
“I have been under constant house arrest for the last 19 months,” he said.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that religious and human rights were being denied along with the civil rights of Kashmiris.
He further said that local journalists were being pressured not to write about Kashmiris.
