Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that India’s move on August 5 was rejected by all Kashmiris.
Commenting on the situation in the region, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that as soon as Prime Minister Imran Khan took office, he invited India to take one step towards peace and if it did, we would take two.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that India also has a responsibility to end the stalemate between Pakistan and India.
He said that if India is ready to create an atmosphere of dialogue for the solution of all issues including Kashmir, then Pakistan would not back down from the talks.
The Foreign Minister said that the resumption of the Ceasefire Agreement after the contacts between the DGMOs of the two countries was a positive development.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also said that Kashmiris and innocent civilians living on the Line of Control were suffering more than ceasefire violations.
He said that peace efforts could not be fruitful unless the leadership of both countries sincerely agreed.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said in a questioning manner that it remains to be seen whether we, the people of the subcontinent, are ready to think about our future or not.
