Abdul Razak Dawood, the government’s commerce adviser, said on Friday that the government was completely focused on increasing trade and exports with Afghanistan, reports to Dawn.

He concluded that increasing bilateral commerce will be encouraged by peace in Afghanistan and the development of the two countries’ economic ties.

The minister told the media that the first cargo transfer from Islamabad airport to Afghanistan through the road was a historic event. WF Integral, a private aviation company, delivered the package to the airport. Mr. Razak said that, despite possessing a cargo handling facility, Islamabad Airport remained inactive for foreign flights. “This facility will also aid in the delivery of products to Afghanistan from other countries,” he said.
