The Israel Minister says it’s not Saudi Arabia or Pakistan that is moving on formalizing ties with Muslim countries.

JERUSALEM:
Israel is working towards formalizing relations with a fifth Muslim country during US President Donald Trump’s term, which ends next month. But the country is not Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, an Israeli government minister told Ynet TV on Wednesday.

This year, the White House mediated reconciliations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco. The Israeli Minister for Regional Cooperation Ofir Akunis was asked if a fifth country would file before Trump leaves on Jan 20.

“That is the way we are working. A new U.S. declaration of a nation that is making its ties with Israel standardized and ultimately an infrastructure for negotiation. A peace agreement – the public will be made,” he answered.

Akunis refused to name the nation, but he said two major candidates were present. “The Gulf is one but it is not Saudi Arabia. The other applicant to the east is not small, as well but not the Pakistani Muslim country.”
