Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says he wants better relations with Israel, but Israel’s policies on Palestine are unacceptable.
Talking to reporters in Ankara, President Erdogan said that intelligence level talks have been taking place between the two countries.
“Our differences are with the top Israeli officials. If there are no differences with the top officials, the nature of the relationship could be different,” he said.
Despite strong economic ties, Turkish-Israeli relations have deteriorated in recent days, with both countries recalling their ambassadors in 2018.
