Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has resigned following public protests over his failure to contain the Coronavirus.

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has tendered his resignation to President Sergio Mata Rila, acknowledging his poor performance on the coronavirus. But he has instructed him to continue working until a new government is formed, with a decision expected in two days.

The Italian prime minister was under intense public pressure to adopt an ineffective policy against the coronavirus. More than 85,000 people died of the coronavirus, sparking riots across the country.

The demonstrators demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Giuseppe. Which had added to the difficulties in stabilizing his weak coalition government, and two days earlier the president had called for the government to be strengthened.

Despite clear instructions from the president, the prime minister failed to convince the allies and lost his majority in the Senate.

In a statement, the resigned prime minister expressed hope that the new government would be strong and free to make decisions in the public interest.
