KP Police launches Ababeel Force to tackle street crimes in Peshawar

Moazzam Jah Ansari, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, launched the Ababeel Squad to tackle street crime and improve the law and order situation in Peshawar.
The Ababeel Squad, which has 1,600 members, will go after street offenders in addition to performing patrols to combat Peshawar’s rising crime rate.

According to IGP Ansari, the new squad would be outfitted with around 400 new motorcycles, bullet-proof vests, helmets, communication devices, firearms, and other items.
