At the Lincoln Memorial Park on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., singer Lady Gaga sang the American national anthem and returned to the festival. Kamala Harris has been sworn in as the 46th Vice President of the United States.
Kamala Harris also made history by taking the oath of office as the first female vice president of the United States. Former President Donald Trump did not attend the oath-taking ceremony, usually, the former US president also attends the ceremony. According to the Associated Press (AP), singer and actress Lady Gaga returned to the festival by performing the national anthem of the United States.
Actresses and singers Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Bon Jovi, and Amanda Gorman performed at the oath-taking ceremony. Not to celebrate, but to pave the way for unity and non-violence. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by key government officials, as well as people from across the United States.
Prior to the oath-taking ceremony, it was thought that supporters of former US President Donald Trump might stage more protests, and security measures were tightened, but fortunately, no untoward incident occurred. At the oath-taking ceremony, Lady Gaga wore a black T-shirt and a red gown, as well as a golden bird of peace symbol on her T-shirt.
