Ministry of Health has Demanded 150 million Dollars in bookings for the covid-19 vaccine.
According to details, a summary of the booking of the Covid-19 vaccine has been sent by the Ministry of Health to the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC). It is expected to allocate 150 million dollars for the booking of the covid vaccine. The Technical Expert Committee estimates the booking of covid vaccine at 150 million dollars. The summary said that global covid vaccine development has entered Phase III.
Currently, The Ministry of Health in its summary sent to the Economic Coordination Committee further said that all the countries are booking in advance for the covid vaccine.
According to the summary, the payment to the vaccine makers will be in the form of foreign currency. Pakistan has approached GAVI for the provision of free and subsidized vaccines. The vaccine is expected to be available from Gavi by the end of 2021. An inter-ministerial and national expert committee on vaccines was set up. However, It is believed that the second wave of Covid has intensified across the country.
While The virus vaccine will arrive in 2021. However, the vaccine developed by the Chinese company is also being used on an experimental basis. In this regard, Parliamentary Secretary National Health Dr. Noshin Hamid said that four to five International companies are in touch for the covid vaccine, the Government will order covid vaccine by the end of this month.
Furthermore, She said some vaccines would be delivered to Pakistan in early January. Whatever the cost, the government will provide free vaccines to citizens. Following this, the Ministry of Health has now demanded 150 million Dollars for advance booking of vaccines.
