Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis resigned as head coaches and bowling coaches.

According to the PCB, former cricketers, Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq will be the interim coaches in the New Zealand series.

Misbah-ul-Haq, the head coach of the national cricket team, said in his decision to resign that he had reviewed his performance during the quarantine in Jamaica for the past year.

After reviewing, he concluded that he is no longer in the frame of mind to face future challenges. Misbah also made it clear in his statement that he knew this was not the right time to resign, but that there were more challenges.

Misbah-ul-Haq also said he wanted to spend time with his family.

On the other hand, bowling coach Waqar Younis said that when Misbah-ul-Haq told him his decision, he also decided to resign.

Waqar Younis said he was satisfied to work with Pakistan’s young bowlers and the young players were performing well.

On the other hand, PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said that we have appointed Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq as interim coaches for the New Zealand series while the announcement of the team management for the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2021 is appropriate. Will be done on time.

Wasim Khan said that the PCB respects Misbah-ul-Haq’s decision. In the last 24 months, Misbah-ul-Haq did his best for Pakistan cricket while Waqar Younis made a bold decision.
