OGRA has proposed to increase the prices of petroleum products.

OGRA has proposed to increase the prices of petroleum products by Rs 4 to 9 from September 1.
The first proposal was made in the context of the prices of petroleum products in the global market in which petrol was proposed to be increased by Rs 3.50 and high speed diesel by Rs 3.75 per liter.
The second proposal was made in the light of keeping the levy on petrol and diesel at Rs 30. It is proposed to increase the price of petrol up to Rs 8 per liter due to increase in levy.

The government had earlier increased the price of petrol by up to Rs 4, after which the price was Rs 114 per liter.
It is to be noted that after the torrential rains in Karachi, more than half of the city was flooded causing shortage of petrol.
For the first time in the history of the country, Pakistan has also introduced the Eco-friendly Euro Five petrol at a price of Rs 120 per liter.
In the first phase, Euro Five petrol will be available in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.
