Kabul resounded with explosions on the occasion of Afghanistan’s 101st Independence Day. On Tuesday, August 18, 14 rockets were fired in Kabul, some of them near the diplomatic district. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, along with other government officials, attended the Independence Day celebrations. According to Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesman Tariq Aryan, the rockets damaged the civilian population and unfortunately injured ten people, including four children and a woman. He added that the rockets were fired from two cars and two suspects were arrested for facilitating the attackers.
