ISLAMABAD– Pakistan has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people and to take steps to implement UN resolutions to resolve the conflict.
During a brief news briefing on Thursday, FO Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry stated that the Kashmir and Palestine issues have been on the UN Security Council’s agenda for the longest time.
According to Chaudhry, Pakistan has condemned Israel’s deliberate assault on Palestinians and violation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s sanctity.
In addition to targeting international media outlets, he slammed Israel’s illegal expansion of Jewish settlements in occupied territory, claiming that Israel is forcing Palestinians to leave their homes.
When discussing talks with Kashmir, he stated that negotiations should be meaningful and result-oriented to resolve long-standing issues such as Kashmir.
Eight more Palestinians, including three members of the same family, were killed in new Israeli strikes in Gaza, which has been under attack for about two weeks.
In eleven days, Israel’s attacks have killed at least 228 Palestinians, including 64 children and 38 women, and injured over 1500 more.
