The Ministry of Health claims that the Health Department has prepared a covid vaccination plan, the vaccination campaign will be run in 3 phases, and according to information that this campaign is likely to start in March.

10 million people will be vaccinated in the first phase, including 500,000 health care workers. In the first phase, 9.5 million people over the age of 65 will be vaccinated. The remaining health care workers will be vaccinated in the second phase. In this phase, citizens above 60 years of age will be able to get the vaccine, while in the third phase, the vaccine will be given to specific sections of the country’s population, depending on the amount of vaccine available.

It has also been decided to set up a special cabinet committee to procure the corona vaccine. However, federal Minister for Planning Asad Omar will head the committee.

The committee also includes Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Hamad Azhar, Special Assistant for Social Welfare Sania Nishtar, and Dr. Faisal Sultan. On the other hand, trials of the covid vaccine made in China are going on successfully in Pakistan. Home Minister Ejaz Shah, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, and his wife have been vaccinated against covid-19. Noshin Hamid said that the covid vaccine would be provided to Pakistanis free of cost.
