Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan has paid a heavy price for insecurity in Afghanistan after Afghans, a peaceful Afghanistan is in Pakistan’s interest.
Addressing a press conference with Turkish and Afghan foreign ministers in Istanbul, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he was happy that despite the postponement of the conference, he had convened this important meeting. The tripartite meeting is important at this juncture.
The Foreign Minister said that not only at the ministerial level but also at the summit level conference should be held. The tripartite meeting also discussed the summit-level engagements today.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Afghans have a unique opportunity in the form of inter-Afghan talks, they should all work together to make the talks fruitful.
“There is no military solution to the Afghan problem, the only way is comprehensive and wide-ranging talks,” he said.
