According to a World Bank report, Pakistan is not yet ready to adopt technology because it is dependent on a number of factors that must be addressed, including the lack of large unified blocks of available spectrum, increased availability of fiber optic networks, and increased availability of 5G smartphones and other affordable devices.
The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology prepared this World Bank report to assess Pakistan’s readiness to build 5G networks. According to the final report, Pakistan: Telecommunications Advisory, 5G Preparedness Plan for Pakistan, the current telecommunications market in Pakistan has been analyzed to determine 5G capabilities by comparing it to neighboring countries and global standards.

Pakistani Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) stated collectively that “the overall project’s readiness is primarily linked to supply and demand factors, thus creating a foundation (often a collaboration between public and private sector initiatives) and commercial viability.”
