A Pakistani singer faces three years in prison for ‘illegal defamation’ over reputational harm after claiming that a pop star groped her, sparking the country’s #MeToo campaign.

Ali Zafar, 40, groped Meesha Shaafi, 39, in his home recording studio in December 2017 ahead of a concert in Pakistan, which the two went on to perform in together, according to Meesha Shaafi.
