Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on E-Commerce Senator Aon Abbas Buppi said on Thursday that the government will soon establish the foundation for Pakistan’s first e-commerce university, Daily Times reported.
“We would soon be setting up the first e-commerce university, which would enhance the capabilities of e-commerce traders not only in Pakistan but also in the emerging e-commerce international market,” he said.
Senator Aon Abbas Buppi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on E-Commerce, said this while chairing the Ministry of Commerce’s one-day ‘National E-Commerce Symposium,’ according to a press release.
Senior Joint Secretary, Aisha Moirani including the e-commerce leaders and traders Badar Khushnood, Sunny Ali, Saqib Azhar, Rehan Allahwala, Zulqarnain Abbas, Hisham Sarwar, Azad Chaiwala, Huzaifa Ali, Usman Chughtai, Syed Tauqeer, Bobby Shahzad, Haroon Raja, Asfandya, Qasim Sana Ramay, Adeem Mirza, Rizwan Zafar, and Ahmed Memon also participated in the Symposium.
Senator Aon Abbas Buppi, the SAPM on E-Commerce, said that the majority of e-commerce business is done by the young and that the government would now offer them all the necessary facilities.
He said that the development of an e-commerce university will give new job possibilities for Pakistan’s young and that Pakistan would become a part of the global supply chain, boosting the country’s economic might.
According to the SAPM, Prime Minister Imran Khan had great aspirations for the young, and today the majority of youth are involved in the e-commerce trade, which might boost the country’s exports while also providing sufficient job opportunities.
Similarly, he added, the government was aiming to launch the country’s first e-commerce web platform, which would aid in the fight against illicit trade.
